The purpose of the WISE Woman program is to increase general knowledge about positive breast health practices and merits of early detection of breast cancer, encourage healthy attitudes about breast health and screening and promote the practice of mammograms to a diverse, uninsured/under-insured and underserved population residing in the Texas Panhandle. The program trains several leaders in the community to teach others in their local neighborhood about breast health issue’s, to facilitate peer access to appropriate screening providers and support them when receiving mammograms.
